I'm Now A Fonero

I signed up to be a beta tester of the FON community. It essentially involves paying a minimal fee ($13) to get the FON router, setting it up and activating it. I received my equipment yesterday and immediately set it up. I had a little trouble figuring out how to set it up as there wasn’t much in the way of instructions. There was a quick start guide, but the CD-ROM was PC only. Good thing I have Parallels running on both Macs. Once I figured out how to bring up the web-based configuration, I made a few adjustments, connected it to the router in my office and registered the device with FON. The best part about the tiny router is that it has two SSIDs which allow me to keep the public FON access point away from our home network. I’m pretty sure I’m the only access point in Venice, CA right now.
